Dr. Nicholas Jensen
Dr Nicholas Jensen grew up in the small town of Osoyoos B.C and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Okanagan University Collage, now known as UBC Okanagan. He went on to attend Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating in 2007 as a Doctor of Naturopathic medicine. Following graduation his desire to deepen his understanding of other healing modalities took him to South East Asia and India with his now wife and business partner Dr. Sonya Jensen.
With a background in sports, Dr. Nick was initially drawn to medicine as a way to work with athletes, but his experiences in Naturopathic school as well as his travels abroad ignited in him a passion to work with patients to integrate modern medicine and the eastern philosophy that healing doesn’t just happen at the physical level but must include the mind and spirit for lasting changes to be made.
Dr. Nick treats a wide variety of chronic illness but specializes in endocrinology, hormonal imbalance, chronic pain and inflammation. He practices acupuncture and is a certified Neural –Prolo therapist. Neural-prolo therapy is a treatment administered superficially or close to subcutaneous nerves through a series of superficial injections. This treatment has been shown to decrease neurogenic inflammation, which is a key contributor to chronic pain, allowing for normal flow of Nerve Growth Factor and subsequent nerve repair with analgesia.
In 2009 Dr. Nick opened Divine Elements Health Centre with his wife Dr. Sonya. Now three years into their practice, Dr.’s Nick and Sonya are excited to be expanding to include Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy or BHRT. Under the guidance of Canada’s leading BHRT and longevity specialist Dr. Ron Brown, Divine Elements has opened the first Truebalance clinic in BC using Dr. Brown’s proven effective Trueblance system. The addition of this powerful and effective treatment into the clinic, along with the strong foundation in the holistic approach of Naturopathic medicine, gives Dr. Nick many ways to work with his patients in helping them achieve the life filled with balance and vitality they desire.
Focus: Living optimally, Pain Management and Chronic illness
Like so many people growing up, Dr. Nick has seen many of his loved ones suffer or pass on from a debilitating illness. What he didn’t know then, but understands now is that a cure doesn’t necessarily mean a healing and that the root of all illness runs deeper than masking important symptoms. The human body and our potential fascinate him to no end, and all healing requires that we pay attention to those signals the body is sending us.
Whether aware of it or not, our bodies are constantly guiding us towards healing. The symptoms we feel are a road map to understand the relationship we have with ourselves, with others and our environment. Like throwing a stone into a still pond; learning how to create health in our bodies has a ripple effect of permeating everything else around us. With increasing awareness and taking an active role in the healing process we are able to learn from our difficulties and prevent future illness.

It is our shared belief and vision that there are no limits to the healing potential within every individual. Sometimes we just need an encouraging nudge to help us remember who we really are and what we’re capable of.
